Olga Cafiero | Cultus Langarum

Photographic exhibition by Olga Cafiero with unpublished works arising from a residency in the Langhe: aerial shots, archive materials and experiments among the vine rows tell of the landscape and wine culture of Barolo. On view until at least the end of 2026.

About the museum

WiMu opened on 13 September 2010 in the Falletti Castle in Barolo, a building of medieval origin owned by the Municipality. The route, designed by the stage designer François Confino, offers a symbolic, emotional and sensory immersion in the culture of wine and wine-making civilisation.

The visit passes through 25 rooms, each with a different theme, and descends from top to bottom. On the third floor the history of wine and the roots of the vine are presented; on the second floor, the relationship between wine and the arts, from the visual arts to literature, music, cinema and cuisine. The piano nobile (main floor) is devoted to the history of the castle and its famous residents, the Marchioness Giulia di Barolo and the patriot Silvio Pellico, and houses a library on the history of Barolo wine.

The visit ends in the cellars, where the great Barolo wines are tasted at the Enoteca Regionale (regional wine tasting room). The museum also offers events, guided tours and programmes for families and schools.
