About the museum
The church was built from 1629 by Prince Kristupas II Radvila, and his son Jonušas II Radvila completed the work in 1652. Later it was the religious centre of the Calvinists of Samogitia. Beneath the vaults nine crypts were set up as the burial place of the Radvila family.
In Soviet times the church was badly damaged. The mausoleum was restored in 1994–2001 and in 2019–2020; it is the first restored burial place of 17th-century magnates of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in Lithuania.
