About the museum
On about 250 m², the police museum shows part of the historical collection of the Police grand-ducale. On display are police caps, uniforms and badges from around the world, along with documents, photographs, films and technical equipment relating to the history of the former gendarmerie and today's police.
The museum has existed since 2006 and was initially housed in the former gendarmerie garages on Verlorenkost. In September 2022 the municipality of Mamer made rooms in Capellen available to the operating association; these had previously housed the Musée international d'effets de gendarmerie et police. The police took over that museum's collection. The agreement with the municipality was initially valid for five years.
Historic vehicles from the collection cannot currently be shown in the museum due to lack of space.
