About the museum

The Ausgriewermusée is run by the association D’Georges Kayser Altertumsfuerscher a.s.b.l., based in Nospelt and devoted to archaeology. It is housed together with the association’s workshop in the village’s former presbytery (“Paschtoueschhaus”).

The association’s main work is excavation at the Gallo-Roman estate of Goeblange; from time to time it also carries out rescue digs across the country. Finds are conserved and catalogued in the workshop in Nospelt. The museum displays objects from the Goeblange villa and the surrounding area in thematically designed rooms, along with replicas of excavation sites. A conference room is used for lectures and for welcoming groups and school classes.
