About the museum
The collection began in the late 1950s, when Prince Rainier III started to acquire and restore historic and sports cars. He himself described it as a personal collection rather than a motor museum. As the garage of the Princely Palace had become too small, it was opened to the public in 1993 on the Terrasses de Fontvieille.
Prince Albert II has continued to enrich it. Since July 2022 it has been displayed over 3,500 m² in a new building near the Stade nautique Rainier III, in the Port Hercule. It includes around one hundred vehicles, from the first automobiles to racing cars.
