Heineken Experience

Interactive brand experience in the former 1867 Heineken brewery on the Stadhouderskade – brewing technology, company history and tasting, ages 18 and up.

Opening hoursAdmission from €24.95 Partially accessible

About the museum

The brick building on the Stadhouderskade is the oldest surviving brewery of the Heineken group. Beer was brewed here from 1867 until 1988, when production moved to larger sites because capacity was too small. After part of the complex was demolished, a brewery reception and information center opened in the remaining buildings in 1991.

In 2001 the visitor center was given the name Heineken Experience. From October 2007 to November 2008 it was completely redesigned and reopened as an interactive exhibition spread over several floors; the redesign later won a Thea Award from the leisure industry. In 2026 the Heineken Experience celebrates 25 years under this name.

The tour leads through the historic brewing halls, explains the ingredients and the brewing process, and tells the story of the Heineken brewing family. Interactive stations, a ride in the “Brew U Ride” simulator and a beer-pouring lesson are part of it, as are tastings in the bar; visitors can optionally go up to the rooftop terrace. It is a brand exhibition run by the company and is open to adults only.
