About the museum
The memorial room was established in 1986 at the parish of Saints Peter and Paul Apostles in Suchowola and is located in the presbytery building. It is dedicated to Father Jerzy Popiełuszko, who came from Okopy in the parish of Suchowola and who was murdered in 1984 by officers of the Security Service (Służba Bezpieczeństwa).
The collections include memorabilia of the priest, among them a clerical collar, a cassock, a stole and a rosary, as well as portraits, photographs and his school identity card. Pilgrims from all over Poland and from abroad continually come to the room.
Anyone who wishes to visit should first arrange a date with the parish priest in the parish office.
