About the museum
The museum was created at the agritourism farm Pacowa Chata in Krypno Wielkie as the private collection of Barbara and Tomasz Pac. The collections were gathered out of a passion for history, tradition and hospitality, and their themes are linked to the history of the Pac family, the region of Podlasie and the times of the old Rzeczpospolita (Commonwealth).
The exhibition is housed in a wooden house in the theme village. It contains objects from the 17th century onwards: household items such as washtubs, irons, mangles, vessels and household and farm tools, as well as craft equipment connected with weaving. A separate section consists of militaria and mementos connected with the history of the 20th century.
The museum is part of the wider offer of Pacowa Chata, which includes the theme village, tradition workshops, accommodation and a regional kitchen. Tours are led by the host, who adapts the story to the age of the group, and can be combined with workshops in which children try out old crafts themselves.
