About the museum
The Izba Pamięci Ziemi Małogoskiej (Małogoszcz Land Memorial Room) was founded in 1998 on the initiative of the Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Małogoszcza. The society was established on 29 September 1994, and its main initiator was the historian Dr Eugeniusz Kosik. The organisation collects mementos, materials and information on the history of Małogoszcz and the surrounding area, and prepares publications on the town and the Ziemia Małogoska region.
The room is located at ul. Warszawska 12, in the building of the former Betania, the oldest building in the town. A plaque commemorates that a Betania once stood on this site, a former hospital founded by the local parish priest.
The collection consists mainly of ethnographic and archaeological mementos. The display shows past life in Małogoszcz, including a home cobbler's workshop and collections linked to the local fire brigade. There are also militaria from Jarków and the surrounding area, a chronicle of Małogoszcz, and display cases devoted to clandestine teaching during the Second World War and to Michał Zborowski.
