About the museum

The Izba Tradycji i Kultury Dawnej (Room of Tradition and Culture of the Past) operates at the Miejsko-Gminne Centrum Kultury, Sportu i Turystyki (Municipal and Gmina Centre for Culture, Sport and Tourism) in Siewierz. Its task is to cultivate and popularise the history of the Siewierz Land. The institution is housed in a historic 18th-century manor house on the old route of the former Principality of Siewierz.

The collection holds nearly two thousand exhibits. They include traditional crafts, archaeological finds and two models: of the Siewierz Castle in its state at the end of the 18th century, and of the Town Hall in its 16th-century state. The room also runs an educational and historical programme and sells souvenirs and books.
