About the museum
Palaeontological research in Bałtów began with Gerard Gierliński of the Polish Geological Institute, who discovered dinosaur footprints from the Late Jurassic here, including those of allosaurus, stegosaurus, camptosaurus and compsognathus. The Delta association and the development association of the Gmina Bałtów decided to illustrate these finds to interest tourists in them. The Park Jurajski (Jurassic Park) opened on 7 August 2004 as the first place in Poland devoted to dinosaurs, and over time a large tourist complex developed around it.
The core of the park is an almost one-kilometre educational trail divided into geological periods. Along it stand more than 100 life-size models of dinosaurs and other extinct animals, made with palaeoartists in line with current scientific knowledge. At the end of the trail is the Jurassic Museum (Muzeum Jurajskie). In the PaleoCamp visitors can see real dinosaur bones from Morocco, as well as remains of amphibians and reptiles from Poland.
The Jurassic Museum presents the exhibition “Powrót do przeszłości” (Return to the Past) on the history of life on Earth: from stromatolites and Ediacaran organisms, through trilobites, ammonites and armoured fish of the Palaeozoic, to marine reptiles and dinosaurs of the Mesozoic and mammals of the Cenozoic. The collections include fossils from Poland, Lebanon, Morocco and Madagascar, as well as dioramas and models. Next to the park there is a zoo, a miniature park, a playground and other amusement attractions, which are not part of the museum.

| Good to know | A visit to the JuraPark itself takes about 2–3 hours. The complex welcomes school trips and camps; in the PaleoCamp you can meet a palaeontologist. Many of the complex’s attractions (zoo, playground, train ride) are entertainment rather than part of the museum exhibition. |
