About the museum
The Muzeum Motoryzacji i Techniki is housed in the Zamek Topacz Resort & Art Spa hotel complex in the village of Ślęza near Wrocław. The exhibition on two floors includes more than a hundred exhibits, among them cars and motorcycles from the interwar period, a collection of Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars with memorabilia, and vehicles that were milestones in the history of motoring.
A large part of the collection consists of icons of the PRL era: motorcycles, mopeds and cars, as well as a shop from the Spółdzielczy Dom Handlowy (Co-operative Trading House) with everyday items, audio-visual equipment and toys, and a camping zone with a caravan and a set. In the building that once housed a film studio, the set of the Polish comedy series “Świat według Kiepskich” has been recreated.
For the youngest visitors there is a corner with a mini garage, a lift and a Toyota model, as well as a driving simulator, tunnels and a track for bottle-cap racing. The museum runs the lesson “Historia na czterech kołach” (“History on Four Wheels”) for pupils in the upper grades of primary school and in secondary schools, and historic cars from the collection can be hired for weddings.
