About the museum
The Muzeum Motoryzacji w Bielsku-Białej (Bielsko-Biała Motoring Museum) was founded on 11 November 2006 on the initiative of enthusiasts of historic vehicles gathered in the Automobilklub Beskidzki (Beskidy Automobile Club). The founder and director is Jacek Balicki, the club's vice-president for historic vehicles. The museum is at ul. Kazimierza Wielkiego, in converted halls of a former fruit-processing plant; the city provided the premises.
Each exhibited vehicle has its owner, a club member, and the hall shows only part of the club's collections. All the cars are roadworthy and take part in rallies and meetings of historic vehicles. Among the exhibits are an Opel from 1934, an Austro-Daimler ADR from 1927, a Fiat 500A Topolino from 1938, a Mercedes-Benz 170V, a Syrena 105, a Volvo Duett and a BMW from the 1930s, said to be the only one of its kind in Poland.
Archival posters and commemorative T-shirts from rallies hang on the walls, and next to the vehicles are plates with technical data and a short history. Visitors may look under the bonnet with the guide's permission. The club also organises the Międzynarodowy Beskidzki Rajd Pojazdów Zabytkowych (International Beskid Historic Vehicle Rally).
