About the museum
The Centro Interpretativo do Parque das Nações (Parque das Nações Interpretation Centre) opened to the public on 23 May 2025, the day after the inauguration ceremony, which coincided with the 27th anniversary of Expo'98. It is located in the north wing of the Pavilhão de Portugal (Portugal Pavilion) and is run by the Junta de Freguesia do Parque das Nações (Parque das Nações parish council), in partnership with the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa and the University of Lisbon.
The space invites visitors to explore the territory of the Parque das Nações, its past linked to Expo'98 and its development into the more recent and modern part of Lisbon. It displays models of the territory, the original preliminary study for the sculpture “Homem Sol” (Sun Man), and historical videos on the before and after of Expo'98, alongside front pages of the exhibition's daily newspaper.
The centre replaces an earlier space that operated in the same pavilion.
