About the museum
The Museu da Cerveja is housed in the east wing of the Terreiro do Paço in Lisbon and belongs to the group O Valor do Tempo. It tells the story of one of the oldest drinks in the world in an interactive and sensory route that combines curiosities, objects and audiovisual material.
The journey begins in the monasteries of Europe, where monks brewed beer, passes through the Industrial Revolution, which changed the way it was made and consumed, and reaches the present day. The route ends with a choice of one beer from more than a hundred Portuguese craft beers.
In the same building there is a restaurant serving Portuguese cuisine, with a terrace facing the square and the Tagus, and works by Júlio Pomar on the walls. The museum also receives groups, with guided tours and dedicated menus.
