About the museum
Casa de la Memoria presents itself as a cultural centre, museum and flamenco tablao. It occupies a house with a patio in Seville's historic quarter, which according to Wikipedia was the former stables of the Palacio de Lebrija. The building retains its portal, walls and patio, as well as several 18th- and 19th-century Triana ceramic lebrillos (glazed earthenware basins).
The centre holds a private collection of artworks, objects and historical documents spread over several gallery and exhibition rooms, and organises temporary exhibitions. Throughout the year it programmes book and record presentations, lectures, master classes on the history of flamenco, poetry recitals, concerts and dramatised tours.
Its main activity is traditional flamenco performances, which are staged in a theatre with a tablao, without microphones or amplification.
