About the museum
The Casa del Marco, in Vilarquille (San Martín de Oscos), operates as a museum of the farmhouse and shows how the rural community of the comarca lived until the mid-20th century.
The complex brings together five buildings. The house has an entrance hall, kitchen, living room, bedrooms, attic and an oven store (bodega del horno); the remaining spaces relate to farm work: stables, hayloft, cabanón (storage shed), loom, carpentry workshop, henhouse, wine cellar, woodshed and potato store. On the nearby holdings, animals typical of an Asturian farmstead are kept: hens, cows and a horse.
