About the museum

CCA Andratx is a contemporary art centre and artists' residency programme founded in 2001 by the Danish couple Jacob and Patricia Asbaek. Both had spent decades working in the international art world and wanted to bring contemporary art and emerging artists to Mallorca. The centre is located in Sa Coma, among terraces and pine-covered mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana.

The complex covers about 4,000 m², with an exterior in traditional Mallorcan architecture and bright spaces that open onto a courtyard through large glass doors. The exhibition halls are tall and versatile, with concrete floors and white walls; their doors also lead to the shop and the restaurant. The estate grows orange, lemon, almond and fig trees and olive trees, and has its own spring.

The centre presents several international exhibitions a year and runs a residency programme in which visual artists work in their studios for several weeks.
