About the museum
Centre d’Art Contemporani La Sala presents itself as a production and reception centre for contemporary creative proposals. Its aim is to make these proposals known to all audiences, to disseminate and stimulate art in its various forms, and to serve as a platform for artistic training and education.
The facility is organised into three exhibition spaces: Sala Oberta, Sala Columnes and Sala Voltes. They host temporary exhibitions by contemporary artists, illustrators, photographers and local projects; in recent years the centre has shown, for example, exhibitions devoted to the festa major of Vilanova i la Geltrú, to illustration and to graphic creation.
In addition to exhibitions, La Sala runs activities for schools (with workshops adapted to different ages), children's workshops, meetings and cycles of activities. The centre receives support from the Diputació de Barcelona, the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Ministry of Culture, and publishes catalogues of its exhibitions, which are offered in the La Botiga section of its website.
