About the museum
The Museo Carlos V in Mojados presents itself as the first museum in Spain devoted exclusively to the Emperor Charles V. It brings together content on his person, his genealogy, his legacy and the colonisation of his empire, as well as on the court, government, economy, fashion, gastronomy, arts and sciences of his era.
A dedicated space is devoted to the meeting of the Habsburgs held in Mojados in 1517, when the young king met his brother, the Infante Fernando, on his first journey to Spain; the municipality commemorates it every year.
The exhibition uses backlit panels, audiovisuals, interactives, replicas of costumes and objects from the period, an augmented reality app and a game in which visitors collect coins to be proclaimed emperor. It is designed for the whole family and for schools.
