Palacio Caballero de Olmedo

Palace of the counts of Bornos in Olmedo, turned into a sensory visit devoted to Lope de Vega's play “El caballero de Olmedo”.

Opening hoursAdmission €6.50

About the museum

The Palacio Caballero de Olmedo occupies the former mansion of the counts of Bornos, on the Plaza de San Julián in Olmedo. The building has been restored as a tribute to the tragicomedy “El caballero de Olmedo” by Lope de Vega, set in this town in the province of Valladolid.

The visit is designed as a playful, sensory and emotional journey through Castile, Olmedo, the Golden Age, the theatre and the figure of Lope de Vega. It is more like an interpretive experience than a museum of collections.

The palace's outdoor corrala (courtyard theatre) is each year the stage of the Olmedo Clásico theatre festival.
