About the museum

The museum occupies the church and several rooms of the Santa Isabel convent in Valladolid, a building from the 15th and 16th centuries according to tourist sources. The church has a single nave covered by a stellar ribbed vault, and the cloister dates from the 16th century.

The high altarpiece reproduces the layout of the one in the collegiate church of Villagarcía de Campos, in two bodies and a crowning. The route also includes the chapel of the jurist Francisco de Espinosa and a room devoted to the monastery's kitchen utensils.

The collection brings together sculpture and painting. Works by Gregorio Fernández and Juan de Juni stand out, as do paintings attributed to Diego Valentín Díaz.
