About the museum
Dcoop, the largest olive oil cooperative in the world, is headquartered in Antequera, a region where olive growing is the main economic activity. The company created the museum as a tribute to the oil culture of these lands and to preserve the legacy that the ancestors used to obtain the “preciado zumo” (precious juice) of the olive fruit.
Three oil mills from the 1st, 17th and 19th centuries are currently on display. The visit is completed by information panels explaining how oil was extracted in antiquity and by an olive variety park. Extra virgin olive oil from the Antequera region can be bought on the premises.
