About the museum
The Museo del Parque Cultural de Molinos, in Molinos (Teruel), is part of the offer of the Parque Cultural de Molinos, run by the town council, which also includes the Grutas de Cristal (Crystal Caves). The museum explains the character, history and surroundings of the life of the people of Molinos. The municipal website warns that its contents have changed compared with earlier stages.
It has three rooms. The ecosystems room shows how the municipality’s terrain, with its varying altitudes and orientations, allows crops adapted to different climates, and covers geology, fauna, flora and the Grutas de Cristal. The palaeontology room displays the jawbone known as “El hombre de Molinos”, the oldest hominid fossil remains found in Aragon.
The third room, next to the town hall, brings together the work of the sculptor Eleuterio Blasco Ferrer (1907–1993), an avant-garde figure who built a career in Paris and gave the town a large part of his sculpture, painting and drawing. A viewing area in the same room also displays works by five artists from the AGU-A-RTE collective, related to the monolith in the square and the surroundings of the village.
