About the museum
The museum is housed in the Culebro windmill in the Sierra de los Molinos in Campo de Criptana, the birthplace of the actress and singer Sara Montiel. She herself wanted her museum to be in a windmill, and she opened it in 1991. After being closed for about six months, it reopened in May 2021 with a redesigned layout.
The route is spread over three floors: the ground floor presents Sara Montiel as an artist, the middle floor as a myth, and the top floor as a woman and mother. Photographs, dresses, film posters, paintings by well-known artists, awards and the piano that appears in the film “El último cuplé” are on display. The visit is guided and lasts about 30 minutes.
