About the museum
The Museo Taurino de Murcia is located in the Jardín del Salitre, on Calle Francisco Rabal, and brings together objects related to the world of bullfighting. Admission is free.
The collection comprises more than 3,500 objects related to bullfighting. On the ground floor, posters of bullfights from the early 20th century are displayed, along with a collection of trajes de luces (bullfighting costumes) donated by matadors, picadors and subalternos (assistant bullfighters), and paintings by artists such as Muñoz Barberán, Julián Alcaraz and Belzunce, as well as the Eduardo Bonet collection.
On the first floor, above a brick arcade, bull heads from different periods are shown, together with tambourines (panderetas) with bullfighting motifs. A curious item is the shirt in which the banderillero Montolíu was fatally wounded. The Región de Murcia tourism portal lists the museum as accessible for people with disabilities.
