About the museum
“Universo Manuel de Falla” is the permanent exhibition that the Fundación Archivo Manuel de Falla and the Auditorio Manuel de Falla present on the Paseo de los Mártires, on the Alhambra hill. Its aim is to bring visitors closer to the intimate life of the composer and to offer a complete view of his career.
The display brings together more than 140 documents from the holdings of the Archive and of the Casa-Museo Manuel de Falla, from the Ayuntamiento de Granada and from private donations. It is complemented by filmed and audio testimonies.
The route follows Falla’s creative and personal stages, from his childhood and youth to his final years, passing through the Ballets Russes, “El sombrero de tres picos” (The Three-Cornered Hat), his time in Granada and the opera “Atlántida”. The curator was Rafael del Pino; the museum project and design are by Julio Juste, and the historical and musical supervision by Yvan Nommick. The project is supported by the Ayuntamiento de Granada, the Ministry of Culture and Sport (INAEM) and the Junta de Andalucía.
