About the museum
Ållebergs Segelflygmuseum at Ålleberg near Falköping is the only museum of its kind in Sweden. It reflects the development of gliding in the country from the 1920s to the 1970s. Many Swedish pilots learned to fly at Ålleberg, and several of the aircraft and equipment on display were used right here.
The collection includes a large number of gliders and sailplanes as well as ground equipment. Among the exhibits is the world’s oldest airworthy Tiger Moth. The museum is owned by the Swedish Gliding Federation (Segelflygförbundet) and Falköping Municipality, and it is run by Segelflygets Veteransällskap.
The guides are happy to show visitors around and explain the various aircraft, but visitors may also walk around on their own. Some of the museum’s gliders are kept airworthy and flown on a few weekends and for one week in the summer. Anyone interested can fly along as a passenger in a veteran aircraft.
