About the museum
Dörby-Kläckeberga hembygdsförening (Dörby-Kläckeberga Local Heritage Society) was formed in 1953, because the coaching inn was threatened with demolition. Today the association owns, in addition to the coaching inn Gästis, which has become a homestead museum and meeting place at Högalids folkhögskola (Högalid Folk High School), also the Kläckeberga poorhouse with a school museum, a farm smithy and a flax-processing house (linbasta).
The association regularly organises film evenings, storytelling evenings, guided village walks and a Christmas market.
