About the museum
Herbert Linder founded the factory H. Linder & Co in 1919, when he was 23 years old, together with partners John Lövstrand and Albin Linder. The two partners were bought out in 1927, and Herbert then ran the factory himself until 1980, when he retired at the age of 84. The factory made, among other things, toe and heel irons for shoes, oilers (oljetter), HerLin slide frames for slide projectors, and metal mass-produced goods, mainly by stamping and pressing.
The factory was moved in 1989 to its present site by Moforsdammen. The Linder family donated it to the local heritage society, and it was inaugurated as an industrial museum by county governor (landshövding) Gösta Gunnarsson on National Day, 6 June 1992. The museum shows how a small metal company driven by one man was automated and electrified, and the belt-driven machines still work.
Anderstorp's local heritage society manages the building. In 2019 the factory's exterior was renovated with the help of volunteers, and the centenary was celebrated on National Day with an open house.
