About the museum
Törås industrimuseum (Törås Industrial Museum) lies in the southern part of Törås in Anderstorp. The site was founded around 1900 by Aron Josefsson, who moved there with his family and built a small cottage, a barn and a foundry. The first foundry was demolished long ago.
The present foundry building was erected in 1909 and was in operation until the 1960s. Metal working and surface treatment were carried out there, and among other things window screws, various kinds of knobs and turned candlesticks were made. The facility consists of three connected wings set at an angle to each other.
The small metal factory has functioned as a small industrial museum since 1969. The museum is shown by Anderstorps hembygdsförening (Anderstorp Local Heritage Society).
