About the museum
Scouternas Arkiv och Museum (the Scouts' Archive and Museum) is part of the Scout organisation and lies in Örnsberg in southern Stockholm, in the same building as Scouternas kansli (the Scout headquarters' office). The archives and collections are located here, together with the working groups that look after them. The archive is a basis for research and for decisions in the ongoing activity, and the museum wishes to preserve what happens today together with more than a hundred years of experience of scouting in Sweden.
The museum shows, among other things, how the scout uniform has changed over the years, a room about the World Scout Jamborees with a map of the camps held, models of scout camps and lean-tos (vindskydd), and equipment such as rucksacks and knots. The museum receives scout troops (kårer) and other groups for inspiration, and a troop board or working group can also hold a meeting on the premises.
