About the museum
Lampeter Museum was founded in 2014 by Hanes Llambed, the Lampeter history society. It occupies the Old Porter’s Lodge at the entrance to the Lampeter campus of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David on College Street, and consists of a single room.
The museum shows the cultural and agricultural development of Lampeter as well as the history of the college, which was founded in 1822. Its first exhibition was about the town during the First World War. The room also contains local historical information, artefacts and a tourist information point.
In 2026 the museum added displays of tradesmen’s tools, local opticians, agricultural implements, and local printers and stationers, and it marked the 180th anniversary of the founding of Lampeter Agricultural Society. The museum opens during the summer months.
