About the museum
The Pleinmont Observation Tower is a five-storey naval observation tower that German forces built and used from 1942 to 1945 as part of their sea defences during the Occupation of Guernsey. It stands on the Pleinmont headland, where a large part of the coastal artillery battery known as Batterie Generaloberst Dollmann was located.
The original rangefinders are still on site and in working order. Nearby there is access to a battery gun position.
