Licht over Deshima

The show leads to the earliest photographs of Japan and shows how Dutch and Japanese doctors and researchers experimented with photographic processes on Deshima in the mid-19th century.

Paisley. The history of a global icon

The exhibition follows the paisley pattern from its roots as the buteh motif in Iran, through Kashmir shawls, to Europe, and shows how it is used worldwide on textiles and clothing. It is an expanded version of an earlier online exhibition.
