Over het museum
Mersch Castle goes back to a medieval fortification with a keep, which still stands today. Over the centuries the complex was damaged several times, rebuilt and expanded. At the end of the 16th century, Paul von der Fels had it converted into a Renaissance castle.
After a comprehensive renovation, the castle now houses the municipal administration of Mersch and is not open to visitors. The museum is located in the former castle chapel on Place Saint-Michel. It displays various objects that were once kept in the castle and provides information about the building’s history.
