Om museet

The Georg-Kramann-Heimatmuseum (local history museum) was run jointly by the Heimatverein Nordwalde, which has existed since 1930, and the municipality. Since 1979 it had been housed in an old single-storey school building from the 1930s in the village center, near the parish church of St. Dionysius. Because the building had become structurally unsafe, the house could no longer be entered.

Since then, parts of the collection have been shown on the upper floor of the manor house on the Bispinghof, the moated farm from which the village of Nordwalde developed. The estate has belonged to the Bürgerstiftung Bispinghof (civic foundation) since 2012. Under the title "Schaufenster Heimatmuseum", the association presents selected objects on the history of the village there. The first exhibition, "Biographien im ländlichen Raum", links objects from the former museum with the life stories of people from the village and its surroundings. In addition there is an extensive digital photo show on life, work, crafts and the development of settlements.

The room is also intended for smaller special exhibitions in the future. The association's Heimathaus at Sieverts Kamp 7 serves as a barrier-free event venue.
