About the museum
The Artemons art museum was founded in 2007 on the former estate of the painter Albrecht Dunzendorfer in Hellmonsödt. The entrepreneur and collector Horst Rilke took over the Kunsthalle Dunzendorfer together with the studio house and numerous works by the artist and turned it into a privately run museum open to the public.
The exhibitions are based on Rilke's collection of several thousand works by Upper Austrian artists, with a focus on Classical Modernism. It includes the estates of Ludwig Schwarzer, Herbert Dimmel, Paul Ikrath and Josef Schnetzer, as well as works by Albrecht Dunzendorfer and 19th-century masters such as Emilie Mediz-Pelikan, Julius von Blaas and Wilhelm Höhnel.
After around two years of renovation, the museum reopened in autumn 2022. The museum's website currently states that the museum is closed.
