About the museum
The Leobersdorf volunteer fire brigade is among the oldest in Lower Austria, according to the NÖ Museen even the third oldest. On the initiative of a fire brigade member, a museum of its own was set up at the station on Florianiplatz; it has officially existed since February 2023 and has been open to the public since September 2023.
Two large rooms on the ground floor show photographs, helmets, caps, uniforms, flags and equipment from the brigade's history. Particular items are a very large drinking horn of the gymnastics team and a Steyr VII, bought in 1929 as an emergency vehicle.
