Le Musée des Enfants

Interactive children's museum in Ixelles: the exhibition “Des ailes pour grandir”, cooking, theatre and craft workshops, for the whole family.

Opening hoursAdmission €13

About the museum

Le Musée des Enfants is a non-profit association based in Ixelles, which describes itself as a place designed entirely for children and inspired by them. Its founder, Kathleen Lippens, is still listed in the team presentation, and in 2026 the museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary with extra workshops during the autumn holidays.

Each exhibition is conceived and built by the museum's own team. “Des ailes pour grandir” is the 17th: a route in six stages, from the great hall and its superpowers to the small worlds, culture and creativity, which helps children get to know themselves and the world around them better. A balance room and a discovery garden complete the visit.

The exhibition is accompanied by animated workshops (cooking, construction, storytelling, crafts, theatre, gardening) where adults stay with the children. The museum also welcomes French- and Dutch-speaking school classes, hosts birthday parties and regular activities throughout the year, and runs a team game around Captain Calypso.
