About the museum
The museum was founded in 1973 on the initiative of the Christian Blavier Foundation: at the Nandrin State School, a small museum was opened so that children could freely discover times past. It is now in the heart of the village of Nandrin and evokes the past of the Liège Condroz, a natural region close to Liège.
Spread over six spaces, the themes range from geology to popular traditions, including agriculture and crafts: fruit press, dibbers, plough, scythes and flails, a reconstructed 20th-century kitchen with its furniture and utensils, and the tools of the blacksmith, nail maker, baker, cabinetmaker, clog maker, shoemaker, stonemason, plumber and miner. A music corner, a schoolchildren's corner, a corner of old toys and a room with wall paintings of a former village square complete the visit.
