About the museum
The Musée communal d'archéologie et d'art religieux d'Amay is housed in the cloisters of the collegiate church of Sainte-Ode, on the Place Sainte-Ode. It is devoted to the archaeology of Amay and the region.
It hosts the exhibition “Mosa Nostra”, which traces the history of the Merovingian Meuse from Verdun to Maastricht, passing through Amay. It presents a dynamic and prosperous Meuse from the fourth to the eighth century, a true vector of civilisation over nine hundred kilometres, with exceptional craftsmanship: ceramics, stone, bronze, iron, glass and deer antler. It also shows the Merovingian context, with its bishoprics, trade, navigation and anthropology.
