About the museum
Burnum was a Roman military camp built at the turn of the old and new eras, on a site from which the crossing over the Krka river could be controlled. It was the base of the XI Legion Claudia Pia Fidelis and the IV Legion Flavia Felix, and the auxiliary units were housed in a small camp in the eastern part.
Visitors can see the arches of the headquarters building, the only preserved military amphitheatre in Croatia, which lies near the village of Ivoševci, and several walls of the military drill ground. The site lies within the “Krka” National Park, and a few hundred metres away, along the Knin – Kistanje road, is the Manojlovački slap (Manojlovac Waterfall).
