About the museum
The Eko kampus “Krka” in Puljane is an educational visitor centre. The buildings of a former military complex were converted within the project “Nepoznata Krka – skrivena blaga gornjeg i srednjeg toka rijeke Krke” (Unknown Krka – hidden treasures of the upper and middle course of the Krka river) into a modern centre for interpretation, education and volunteering.
The campus is intended for children, students, volunteers and researchers, and for visitors who want to get to know the natural and cultural-historical heritage of the park in more detail. It consists of an Archaeological Collection with finds from the excavations of the Roman military camp of Burnum, the Temple of Nature (Hram prirode, the natural history collection), a Nature Laboratory for primary school children, a Nature School (Škola u prirodi, an open-air amphitheatre), a Volunteer Centre with research laboratories and hostel-type accommodation, and a conference hall with one hundred and twenty seats.
The main presentation elements are linked by circular walking trails with information boards on the plant and animal species of the park. The campus can be visited with a staff member throughout the year, or independently with the help of a site map.
