About the museum
The permanent displays of the Brijuni National Park are located on the island of Veli Brijun. The exhibition of copies of frescoes and Glagolitic inscriptions from Istria and Kvarner was set up in 1958 in the Gothic Crkva sv. Germana (Church of St German) from 1481. In the building of the former steam bath are the exhibition “Iz sjećanja starog Austrijanca” (From the Memories of an Old Austrian) on Paul Kupelwieser and the development of the island as a summer resort (1993); the photographic exhibition “Josip Broz Tito na Brionima” (Josip Broz Tito on Brijuni) (1984), on Tito's stay on the island from 1947 to 1979; and a natural history exhibition with almost 200 animal specimens in 19 dioramas (1986).
