About the museum
The Mining and Mineralogical Mini-Museum is in Hřebečná, which is part of the town of Abertamy. It is a private museum in a residential house on Pohraničníků Street. It welcomes all friends of mining and minerals, not only from the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory).
The collection includes old miners' lamps and kahany, miners' clothing and tools. The minerals come from the Ore Mountains and the surroundings of Abertamy, from other important ore localities in the Czech Republic, such as Jáchymov, Příbram or Stříbro, and also from Romania and Slovakia. In front of the house stands a hand-carved statue of a miner, larger than life.
The space is small, so no more than five people may enter the museum at one time, and a visit takes about ten minutes. Admission is voluntary.
