About the museum
The separate infantry blockhouse K-S 37 “Na rozhledně” was built in 1937–1938 as part of the Czechoslovak border fortifications on the south-eastern slope of Adamův vrch (elevation 765 m above sea level) near Mladkov. Structurally it belonged to the ŽSV III – Králíky section, sub-section Adam. The construction was awarded to the Prague firm Kapsa a Müller, together with the Adam fort and the blockhouses K-S 38 and K-S 46. Blockhouse K-S 37 was concreted in June 1937, using 1,669 m³ of reinforced concrete of resistance grade II. Because of the slope of the terrain, the object is built with stepped height; the floors of the two firing rooms differ by two metres. The blockhouse has three armoured cupolas and also served as an artillery observation post.
Today the object is looked after by the military history club KVH vrch Adam, which is gradually equipping and reconstructing it. According to the Bunkry.cz portal, objects related to Czechoslovak fortifications are displayed inside, and the history of the customs and financial guard is to be presented there separately. The club allows visitors to see, in one visit, not only blockhouse K-S 37 but also the nearby blockhouse K-S 38 and three light fortification structures of model 37 (nos. 35/A, 36/B1 and 236/E).
