About the museum
The Muzeum venkova v Kamberku (Museum of Rural Life in Kamberk) was founded in 2003 in the former school building from 1886, where teaching stopped in 1976. It opened on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Kamberk volunteer fire brigade.
The memorial room displays more than a hundred old objects connected with the village. The museum also includes a historic school classroom with period furniture, teaching aids, photographs of pupils and school documents from the 19th century. Since 2006 it has also used the former Kampelička building (No. 2), where farm machines, some of them up to 150 years old, are displayed in the renovated cellar and attic. In the same building there is a peasant parlour with furniture about a hundred years old.
The museum occupies seven rooms in three buildings.
