About the museum

Pelhřimov created a museum for its famous natives on the ground floor of the so-called Šrejnarovský dům on Masarykovo náměstí 10. It commemorates the artistic Lipský family, above all the director Oldřich Lipský and his brother, the actor Lubomír Lipský, but also other family members who worked in theatre, film and television.

The exhibition has three parts. The first informs about the life and work of the brothers, their activities in Pelhřimov and their theatre career, from the amateur theatre group Rieger through the Divadlo satiry to Lubomír's engagements in Prague theatres. The second part is devoted to film: scenes from the best-known films run in a small cinema, and awards, photographs from filming and posters are on display. The third part, named after the film “Velká filmová loupež”, allows visitors to step into the stories of famous comedies and fairy tales.

A novelty is a photo point with the sets of the film studio for “Ať žijí duchové”, where you can put together your own scene and take a photo in front of Krakovec Castle. The museum is suitable for both children and adult lovers of Czech cinema.
