About the museum

Memphis Mansion was created by the Elvis collector Henrik Knudsen, chairman of the official Danish Elvis Presley fan club. From 1993 he displayed his collection at various locations in Randers before having his own building constructed, modeled on Elvis's Graceland estate in Memphis. The building, which cost about DKK 26 million, opened in April 2011 under the name Graceland Randers.

Following a legal dispute with Elvis Presley Enterprises over the name Graceland, the complex has been called Memphis Mansion since December 2015. Besides the museum, it includes an American-style diner, a souvenir shop and banquet halls; more than a thousand events have been held here since it opened.

The Elvis exhibition is one of the largest private Elvis collections in the world and tells the singer's life chronologically from 1935 to 1977 – with clothing, jewelry, guitars, records, letters, private photos and the Presley family's Lincoln Continental. On February 26, 2022, Johnny Cash's birthday, a museum about the country singer was added, which by its own account is the only permanent Johnny Cash museum outside the USA. A replica of Elvis's birthplace, the Tupelo House, rounds out the grounds.
